Environmental Action (EA)
Through our greening programme we develop water-wise, sustainable, indeigenous, educational oases which improve the external environment and living conditions in schools, homes, streets and organisations within the Cape Flats. Since 1991
we have helped to transform scores of schools from wastelands into beautiful green 'outdoor classrooms' where children can both learn and play. Through this an appreciation and awareness of the natural environment in general and the Cape Flats flora in particular is developed.
Community control and buy-in is vital to the success of all our projects. In school greening, for example, learners and teachers are involved in all aspects of school greening, from planning to planting.
